3.2.11.1 Export to FSL
Export Data in FSL-like format
- Start up DIFF_CALC according to the software guide.
- Click on load listfile, and navigate to your list file (if you have run the registration software, this will be the one ending in _DMC.list)
- A window may pop up asking about Endianism, select "statistical test" and click Done (unless you know what the endianism is, then you can specify big or little and click done).
- Click on the "export images" button on the left hand side of the GUI that has become active. For FSL: Select the "RAW FSL-LIKE UNSORTED". This may take a few minutes to finish, depending on how big your data is. It will create a bvecs, bvals and a 4D analyze file (.img/.hdr). The following message will be displayed when it is finished: "Raw images exported. 4Ddata UNSORTED bvecs, Flipped X". Similarly, for Camino: Select either the "RAW FSL-LIKE SORTED" or the "RAW FSL-LIKE UNSORTED" option depending on your desired scheme file version.
- You're done. Just click the "quit" button in the GUI to close the software. There will now be a new directory inside your proc directory ending in _FSL_RAW_UNSORTED (or _FSL_RAW_SORTED). If you go into that directory, you will see the files you need for running FSL or importing into Camino.
Notes
- The statement "Flipped X" reflects a simple difference in coordinate system between our software and FSL and Camino.
- If you need a mask image, use the mask raw images option of DIFF_CALC before selecting export images. The mask that is created here will be output to the same _FSL_RAW_UNSORTED directory.
