  • 48 Default Setting

The metric in the registration framework used by the software is the mutual information metric. Mutual information is based on the probability distributions of the values in both fixed and moving images and these distributions are discretely computed as histograms. The number of bins in the histograms is defined by the number "nbins".

Increasing this parameter will increase the number of bins used in histogram computations. Generally, the number of bins depends on the range of values and size of the images but the default value of 48 should work for most cases.
