1.2.1 System Requirements

The software currently supports the Linux platform and intel based Mac. Windows support is expected in a future release.

For faster processing, the IDL code calls external C/C++ functions. These functions need to be compiled for the specific platform the user is running in order for the software to work properly. Here is the list of specific platforms:

  • Linux 32 bit edition: This platform is fully supported. It even includes Java run time libraries for an advanced algorithm to compute background noise. This platform is the only platform that has JRE support. Note that Java functions will not work with the virtual machine.
  • Linux 64 bit edition: This platform is fully supported.
  • Mac OSX: Intel based systems are fully supported.

Note that due to the vast number of Linux flavors we were unable to test them all. If you run into any errors, please contact us, and let us know the error you received, as well as the linux edition and flavor you are running. This code has so far been tested on CentOS 5.2, CentOS 5.3, REHL 4, Ubuntu, Fedora 7, and Fedora 9.
